Get Ready Stamford Pet Lovers! A New Pet Shop Is On Its Way To Gwash Way!

Wildwood Pets – an online pet store is expanding its business in the form of its first brick-and-mortar shop, solely dedicated to catering to cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and other small animals.

If you are pet lovers and looking for the best products to give your pets, you have a new destination to shop at Gwash Way in Stamford. Wildwood Pets – an online pet store is expanding its business in the form of its first brick-and-mortar shop, solely dedicated to catering to cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and other small animals. The shop is set to swing its doors open for the public on 13 January 2024.

Wildwood Pets – A Passion For Animals:

The beauty of the shop is that it is owned by a couple – Thomas Rogerson and Laura Brooke whose heart beats in tune with pet lovers like you. Their ardent passion for animals made the couple study related to animals.

Thomas began his journey when he was 16 while working at an independent pet shop in Yorkshire. Later, he met Laura and went on to establish “Creature Education” – a company that would bring animals to schools and parties. The couple has a diverse background that includes work experience as a lecturer in animal management at the Northumberland Wildlife Trust Pets Corner and Pets Corner. This wealth of experience paved the way for this new first physical shop, according to the couple.

However, things weren’t a cakewalk. Though they have been running their online store since 2023, opening a physical shop has thrown some challenges on their way. In October, just days away from signing a lease, the couple learned about the potential arrival of a Pets at Home branch in town. Undeterred, they decided to face the competition head-on, confident that Stamford residents would appreciate the unique offerings of their independent store.

We decided if you’re going to go up against a big chain, Stamford is the right town to do it,” Thomas said.

What Can You Expect?

Wildwood will be offering a range of mid-level to premium products. They have thoughtfully divided the store into different sections based on different animals, ensuring the customers ease in locating their desired products.

Being truly committed to their job, they promise to sell the products that are available only in independent stores. “We wouldn’t stock anything that we wouldn’t give to our own dog,” said the couple.

Looking ahead, the couple has a plan to expand the store to serve pet services such as training, grooming, and more.

So, whether you have a loyal canine friend, a melodious bird, or a scaly reptile, Wildwood Pets promises a haven for all your pet care needs.

Opening Offers:

Upon the inaugural, the couple has been dedicated to offering free goody bags to the first 30 dogs to come to their shop. Additionally, They have planned for a Polaroid dog show. And, they will be allowing dogs to have their photos taken with staff voting for their favourites in various categories, with prizes ranging from toys to shopping vouchers.

In a bid to foster community ties, the couple has extended invitations to other local pet shops, dog walkers, sitters and groomers for a preview event on the Friday evening preceding the grand opening. The couple also plans to collect donations for animal rescue charities, aiming to contribute to the re-homing process.
