Opening a new restaurant, Tetiana Kopets, a Ukrainian Woman has been sharing her culture flavors with the residents of Kelowna.
Tetiana Kopets is a survivor of the Ukrainian War. Due to the devastating after-effects of the war, Tetiana and her family had to forcefully flee from her hometown to seek refuge in Canada. Though Canada welcomed her warmly, her initial days had never been a cakewalk.
Being a war survivor, she has to grapple with the emotional turmoil, a lingering aftermath of the war. She sought ways to rebuild herself. During this period, what made Tetiana happy was cooking for her children. The sense of comfort and happiness that it offered gave her a new profound hope.
Determined to bounce back and honor her new community, Tetiana has established this new restaurant, named “Ready To Cook.” According to Tetiana, this establishment will stand as a testament to both her resilience and her gratitude towards Canada, which provided her with shelter and opportunity at times of hardship.
“We are so grateful to Canada and for the opportunities to do business in this country,” Tetiana Kopets told Kelowna Capital News.
Specialty Of Tetiana Kopets’s Ready to Cook:
Ready to Cook specializes in Ukrainian – home-made and ready-to-cook meals and desserts which can be prepared within 10-30 minutes approximately (depending on the dish). All their eateries come in a flash frozen or pre-cooked stage. However, the foods are fresh and safe to eat, as they use fresh ingredients. You just need to pre-heat them before serving. And, your food is ready within 30 minutes.
“Our aim is to give you maximum enjoyment of home-cooked food while saving your time! That’s why our uniquely frozen products are exactly what you need!,” said Tetiana Kopets.
Tetiana is kind enough to share this space with other Ukrainians as well to thrive and grow. All the foods are cooked and prepared in-house by the Ukrainian cooks at the store. Since the foods are being prepared by the natives, the customers can expect the taste and rich flavor of Ukraine in every bite.
The store has been split up into two sections. One will serve for the retail purpose, where the customers can shop their favorite ready-to-cook meals. While the other will let the visitors watch how the Ukrainian food is being prepared through a transparent glass window.
The store is located at The District on Bernard, 565 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC V1Y 8R4
